Moncton Junior tourney - PEI shines

A little summary and pic of weekend's tourney in Moncton for any publication you see fit

11 junior squash players including the 8 who will be representing the province later this month at the Canada Games travelled to Moncton this past weekend to compete against top junior players from the other Maritime provinces in the beautiful 6 court Moncton Squash Club.

The 25 players were divided into to two groups (gold and silver) and each athlete played a minimum of three matches.
Awards were given to champions and consolation winners in each category.  All four winners were young Island boys, the two in the gold division will be off to Red Deer at the end of the month.
Undefeated in the gold division was Liam Jinks. He knocked off virtually the whole NB Team on his way to the title. Picking up the consolation award was PEI #2 Thomas Cheeseman. Rounding out competitors in this top division were Red Deer bound Olivia Phillips,  Michael Cheeseman and Charlie Peacock.
The silver division had three of our girls team members, Maria Chesseman,  Lindsey Drover and Grace McQuaid along two rising young stars Tobias Cheeseman and Ajit Bala. But it was the youngest of the 4 Cheeseman training regularly at The Spa, 12 year old Tobias who went undefeated to claim the Silver division.  And congratulations to Ajit for being the last player standing in the consolation.
